We haven’t accomplished anything
this week. We are still trying to get a response from Ms. Elizabeth about the
situation in Tinian. Lack of communication about the project is our biggest
problem. Throughout this week I wasn’t active in making more ideas because I
was on strong medications that made me drowsy all the time. I face full responsibility
on not making this week work because of my personal reasons and hopefully in
the future we will make more progress. After all the exams and project, I will
make this my top priority because I want to succeed in making an actual
difference in these animals’ home and future. Me and my partner actually plan
to make our organization last a bit longer than “just” a project for Geometry.
My next action is to find out a response from Ms. Elizabeth about the situation
in Tinian and make more fundraisers to meet our goal.

We haven’t accomplished anything for
this week. This week was prom week which has been a really busy week and our
mentor went to Tinian to see the situation there so we weren’t able to
collaborate with her with future fundraisers. Same as always, time will always
be my biggest challenger because I can’t fit everything in a day. I have no
idea how some people can manage their time so well. I wish to obtain that type
of skill and responsibility after this Make a Difference Project. My skills
haven’t improved at all over the past week. I believe in my other blogs I mentioned
that I want to have great time management skill and I am currently pushing
myself to overcome my poor skills and laziness. Looking at our proposal for
this project, we aren’t on track for on-time delivery. There has been many
delays in our schedule but we wish to continue this project till the end of the
school year or more. My next action is to find out about the situation on Tinian
so we can set our own goal.

My partner and I fund raised during our Cultural Day event for
Saipan Cares for animals. It was stressful putting everything together because
we only had three days to prepare our things that we will need. Planning on
what we would sell was the biggest challenge for me because there are other
booths that had the money and ideas that were all put together to make their
own booth successful. We had to focus on
our budget for this event due to no funding at all. We both agreed on selling corn dogs
because it was affordable and easier to cook, however we weren't aware that
NHS would be selling corn dogs too! It was too late to change so we
just went with it. Surprisingly, our
booth was sold out and we made a total of $158.00. My next action is to
continue to send out solicitation letters and make more plans for future
fundraisers to increase our funding.

Ms. Elizabeth, the president of Saipan Cares for Animals,
approved our solicitation letters! Mr. Aguon and Stuco approved me and my partner’s
idea of selling in Cultural day as a fundraiser. This week has been going as
planned for us despite our busy schedules. Although the sending out
solicitation letters has been held back this couple of weeks due to the delay
of approving the solicitation letters. Planning and listing the ideas of what
to sell for Cultural Day is stressful because we don’t know what the people
want to buy. My skill in particular of
being able to handle time wisely has improved, I was able to turn in all my
work but also focus on this project. My
next action is to look for a tent, table, and to make a poster for our booth in
Cultural Day and also send out the solicitation letters. Hopefully everything
will turn out to be successful.
