We met with Ms. Elizabeth this past Tuesday and she told us the situation of Saipan Cares For Animals and the Tinian clinic. The situation of the Tinian Clinic is horrifying and they are need of help. The place is overcrowded with dogs and the way they put down dogs is inhumane* but they can’t do anything about it because they have no funds. Ms. Elizabeth was trained by Humane International to do the right to put down dogs. We as a group want to focus more on funding for Tinian Clinic because they are in a problematic situation. We told her our idea of selling on Cultural day to fund raise and we got it approved already by Mr. Aguon. Ms. Elizabeth told us to revise our solicitation letter because there were some mistakes on the names and our confusion between the Animal Shelter (Government) and Saipan Cares for Animals (Private non-profit organization). My next action is to send out the revised solicitation letter once it gets approved by her.

*Ms. Elizabeth heard "rumors" about the Tinian Clinic so she will go there to check

As of now, we haven’t accomplished anything yet. Our progress is really slow since Saipan Cares For Animals and Ms. Elizabeth who has been helping us has been busy this past week. Communication between them and us has been really draggy and getting a reply from them takes days. Challenges in time again has been a huge hindrance for us because my partner has her own personal agenda to finish and I am busy with me trying to get in the Air Force. Through the process, I learned that it is best to set priorities first so our schedule isn’t scattered all over. We aren’t on time with our schedule which is to send out solicitation letters. We sent a copy to Ms. Elizabeth but she disapproved it because of some minor mistakes. My next action is to fix those mistakes and hopefully get back on track.

We haven't accomplished anything yet and my partner and I are behind schedule. We will meet with the Animal shelter management and set out further fundraising ideas. This week has been a very hectic week. I had 3 exams to study for and trying to fit our project Paws for a Cause into the schedule was hard. Time has been my biggest challenger ever since the beginning. I am not that type of person who manages time so well and trying to do everything before the due dates is a rush. I have learned that it is best to plan things ahead before the due dates. As I mentioned, I have not accomplished anything major yet and so I have not develop any outstanding skills. However, I made a solicitation letter that will be sent out to different companies tomorrow. On the timeline, we are behind schedule. I will have to change the fundraising ideas and move it to next week since we haven't gotten any ideas yet. My next action is to send solicitation letters which will hopefully get a reply back.

We got in contact with the people in the Animal Shelter. My partner, Lizalyn, will meet with them this Saturday to set out ideas and details on how we can help them. Communication wasn't as easy as expected, although we successfully got an email after sending 5 emails to her. My challenge that I will face in particular is time commitment. To be able to commit my own time to this project will be very difficult because I have to tutor kids every day and serve every Saturday for my volunteer hours. However, this project is very important and will try my best to succeed. I learned that animals doesn't have much attention they need and I personally think that they need so much attention because they have feelings too. As of now we are going on schedule following our timeline. My next action is to create and send our solicitation letters to companies as part of our fundraising.
