Our main
purpose was to help Saipan Cares for Animals, but after Ms. Elizabeth, the
president of SCA told us the situation of the Tinian shelter, we were greatly
saddened to hear that our neighboring islands shelter is facing a much worse
situation. We then decided to fund raise for them then help Saipan Cares for
Animals.
Our first Make a difference fundraiser was a
success. We sold food and refreshers during Cultural Day at our school and
fortunately, we sold out everything. However, our funds weren’t sufficient
enough to supply them with necessities. My partner and I decided to continue
this project for we want to make a bigger difference to our community animals
lives.
If I were to do this again next year, I would have
the same mindset to WORK HARD and to continue to supply them with money
donations. I know that money doesn’t reciprocate so well around this type of
organizations. We live in a small island and money is hard earned especially with
this type of economy. I can say that our main sources of income are the tourists.
So donating wouldn’t really be part of our list especially if we just live
paycheck by paycheck.
I will for sure always help animals that is because
they have a soft spot in my heart. I think that they are vulnerable to many
things and they have no power to reject something that they don’t like. Pit
bulls for example are forced to fight in illegal dog fighting rings. I own a
pit bull and I always ask him “what made you a fighter?” I honestly think that
they are lovely and not made to be a fighter. All animals are vulnerable, for
they have no say in the world we live. I will continue and make time for this
project until we reach our goal.

Above is a map to SCA. You can help them by donating whatever you think can satisfy their needs. They are open to many volunteers that are willing to help them. If you still don't understand what we see in animals, see for yourself and visit them!
